    Protect your warchest

    Many of you will know that my early background was in recruitment and it’s still an industry I’m heavily involved with today. The UK recruitment industry has an annual turnover of £27bn and the majority of operators are small to medium enterprises – 95% of which have a turnover of under £5m. Arguably it is the most entrepreneurial industry this country has and when done well, provides a good model for other start-up businesses. Interestingly, many of the businesses that come across my desk don’t actually need cash - they need support.
